High Ceiling Conversion

Many expanding families are faced with the challenges of decreasing space in their home. The first thought that crosses their mind is moving into another home. With the current housing market, it isn't a very appealing prospect. This is where the high ceiling conversion experts swoop in to save the day!

In many cases, these families reside in a home that has a high ceiling. While a flat, high ceiling is preferrable, it would be unwise to immediately discount a vaulted ceiling. There are still plenty of possibilities awaiting in that vertical empty space. Why not fill that high ceiling with a new room? 

These homeowners were presented with two options for their bedroom addition:

• Dormer Addition
• Full-Height Bedroom Addition via Roof Raise

A dormer does provide extra headroom, but you lose some of that as you get closer to the roof line. Raising the roof, while a bit more expensive and intensive, grants you the full-height experience, allowing your new room to truly breathe. 

Simply explaining these differences can be quite a task. Thankfully, our in-house expert architectural design team were able to show this family exactly what these dramatic renovations would look like to their home, all while being able to make adjustments on the fly. This not only prevents the horrible back-and-forth loop that plagues many remodeling projects, but also paints a clear picture as to what the homeowner will be getting. 

At the end of the day, this family received a massive improvement to their home. Getting a full-height bedroom to accommodate their kids upstairs, while simultaneously receiving a new ceiling below, is quite a big win!
